Salons

beauty salon photo with empty chairsThe Central Connecticut Health District adopted a Salon Ordinance on April 17, 2008.  The ordinance identifies operational standards for all barber shops, beauty salons and nail salons and includes annual licensure of the establishment.  There are approximately 180 barber shops, beauty salons and nail salons in the four District towns. Inspections focus on meeting operational standards, proper equipment, facilities, and sanitation.

Complaints concerning the operation or condition of a barbershop, beauty salon or nail salon should be directed to the central office.
