Public swimming pools are inspected on a routine basis to ensure compliance with the requirements of the CT Public Health Code. There are 25 seasonal and 8 year-round public pools in the District. Inspections focus on pool water chemistry/disinfection, safety equipment, filtration and general cleanliness.
The term “Public Pool” includes schools, health clubs, motels/hotels, apartments, condominiums and private clubs. Public pools must obtain an annual license from the District to operate. “Complaints” concerning the operation or condition of a public pool should be directed to a District office.
