Public Swimming Pools
Public swimming pools includes town parks, schools, health clubs, motels/hotels, apartments, condominiums and private clubs. Public pools must obtain an annual license from the District to operate. They are inspected on a routine basis to ensure compliance with the requirements of the CT Public Health Code and the CCHD Sanitary Code. There are 59 public pools in the District including 43 seasonal and 16 year-round public pools. Inspections focus on pool water chemistry/disinfection, safety equipment, filtration and general cleanliness and maintenance.
